YAY!! PROGRESS =D Can't wait until in downloads =D Can't think of anything to do for the contest... Can I do something cinematic? I'm not a very graceful player, but I might be able to make something cool if I take my time. I managed to get stuck here... I used a portal to go back and get my cube, but then I quickly moved the cube from the button to the door, allowing me to get in. Then I was stuck... Just noticed that's only half the problem, the main problem was that I could get back in that room in the first place :S Here's what I did. Also I noticed one other thing, you can sneak some of the cubes past the particle field door things. In certain instances you can place a portal on the other side by shooting just above the field and therefore sneak a box by. I haven't come across anywhere where that would change gameplay, but just felt like letting you know.

Whoah... you managed to get a portal under the fizzler.
Granted that was a really old fizzler. (really really old). Which I did over a year ago. But still...
As for getting stuck, in the yellow room, that's my bad. Originally you would walk into a massive room with a tree in the middle and you'd solve puzzles all around the tree while going higher and higher in the room, eventually letting you get into the room with the tree with then somehow magically has you end up in a grassy field.
I left this part out and instead just stuck a portal at the entrance to wisk you away to the bit where you meet "Charlie" (which is normally an alternate path route, not a linear one).
So in making that portal set up, I forgot that your linkage ID was still set to 1 so you could essentially portal back in to the yellow room. The sollution to this is to place a fizzler or a killswitch for the yellow room portal at the opening to the portal you come out of, which I totally forgot to do. So I ended up creating a scenario with 2 orange Linkage ID 1s that switch back and forth.
My bad.
So yeah: Please do not place any portals after you go through the white tube until you get close to the window. Look into the window, and then you can portal in there.
I can release a fix for this if you'd like.

Wow ;D After a long time of waiting, Ian delivers!
I really liked it, and found both endings. A couple little issues for me though:
- There were a lot of areas where it seemed like I could do something else, and this being a non-linear map, I assumed that I could. So I spent a lot of time looking around for nothing.
- Many parts were VERY laggy. Part of it may have been my computer, but it was so bad that it crashed once. I do want to enter the video contest, but I'm not sure if I can due to lagging problems.
So anyway, great job. While I'm here I guess I'll check out those games for the iphone...they look kinda interesting ;D

Tried it out, it was certainly the most original and very great mappack just for being a demo. It did feel laggy at times and seeing I can play Portal fullspeed with all graphical settings turned to maximum I think it has something to do with the mapper... And you are planning to make this a full stand-alone game? Dunno how that will work out. I also tried uploading a playthrough of the map to Youtube but seeing I have a slow connection (for uploading) and the Youtube uploader is getting on my nerves I don't know if it will work out. EDIT : Just uploaded the first video : www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzNe8v_VkeU

I just finished a video I made of the new demo, it doesn't really qualify for the contest, but I felt like making a video and this is how it turned out. If you haven't played it yet, and don't want to spoil it, probably don't watch this trailer :S It contains key scenes.
*SPOILERS*
I'm not a very graceful gamer, so making a video of me simply playing the level would be pretty shit, so instead I made something a bit more cinematic, a trailer for Hetzchase Nailway.
I had to render it kind of crappy quality, the resolution is alright, but its kinda dull, and kinda blurred, idk. Also my computer is pretty meh, so its not full quality graphics, and its sometimes at a bad framerate. Also I think it gets a bit hectic, and that may be more so for other people, as I made it, so I know whats happening... But yeah, feedback would be appretiated. =D

There hasn't been as large of a response to this than I expected. I guess I thought your maps were more well known than they actually are. They deserve to be.
Anyway, I was wondering what this "T shirt" is, is it a random shirt? or does it have something to do with portal, hetzchase, Motion 9, or something like that?

So is this just going to stay a demo, or will more ever come out for this? It would be very interesting if there was more to play.

Hello! I have yet to play this yet, but I have been watching videos of it, including the series named "Ian's Mind". I noticed while watching the videos, that when you encounter Charlie, the word "belief" in the subtitles is spelt wrong. Just thought I would let you know.
